What is Treatment Benefit?

Treatment Benefit is a Department of Social Protection scheme that provides limited help with hearing-aid costs, subject to its conditions.

Who can qualify?

Entitlement depends on your PRSI contribution record and the scheme’s eligibility rules. Check your own entitlement rather than assuming that the grant applies to everyone.

How do you check?

Check eligibility with the Department or an approved provider. Before proceeding, confirm the current contribution, claim conditions and any cost you would need to pay yourself.

Where to find current details

Read Citizens Information’s Treatment Benefit guidance for the latest rules and hearing-aid contribution details. Scheme rules can change.

This is general information, not a decision on your entitlement. HearWell Health is opening in January 2027; approved-provider status has not been announced.
